Foundation Video: Episode 20 with Elon Musk

Kevin Rose
Partner

I had the opportunity to visit the Tesla factory to catch up with Elon Musk — founder of PayPal, SpaceX, and Tesla Motors — for the latest installment of my Foundation video series. He talks about giving up the role of CEO at his first company, where he gets his best ideas, and why entrepreneurs must actively seek out negative feedback.

He also speaks for the first time about bringing the SpaceX and Tesla aerodynamics teams together to explore a new mode of transport — the Hyperloop. “If you could make something go as fast as a Concorde on the ground, how would you do that?” Enjoy!

Elon on where inspiration strikes:

One idea for a supersonic vertical takeoff and landing electric plane occurred to me at Burning Man. It’s a very creative place.
